Quicker AIPs & More Accepts

Not only are more borrowers being accepted for a mortgage with Accord, but brokers are receiving quicker offers on client applications following a series of changes we've made to the application and underwriter process.

Improved Affordability

We've made changes to our affordability criteria and lending policies so we can help even more borrowers; offering mortgages to a wider range of customers, more quickly. We're also more able to responsibly lend larger loans to some borrowers.

Underwriters you can call on

You can contact the Underwriter processing your client's case directly. With a direct line to the decision maker, your questions can be answered on the spot. Available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm and Saturday, 9am to 12 noon, calls are answered promptly enabling you to give your client a first class service.

Easy to do business with

We've made changes to our affordability criteria and lending policies so we can help even more borrowers; offering mortgages to a wider range of customers, more quickly. We're also more able to responsibly lend larger loans to some borrowers.

For Buy-To-Let business, we have launched an innovative reversion rate to improve afforability for landlords following the fixed rate period of their mortgage. They will benefit from a 1.75% discount from Accord Buy to Let Standard Variable Rate, currently 5.34%.

Quicker Mortgage Offers

  • We have reduced our Application to Offer time by 6 days from 2015 to 2016.
  • Between Jul-Dec 16, we provided brokers with an offer in less than 12 working days of receiving an application, with over half of cases being processed in less than 10 working days. (Accord Press Release, February 2017)
  • Offers are now valid for 6 months (including remortgage) and for new build, we now allow an additional 6 months.
  • 59% of cases are offered in less than 10 days. (YBSG Analysis Sep 2016 -Feb 2017)

Lending Decisions Made by People
Not computers

From start to finish, each application is assigned a dedicated Underwriter so they have time to undersand and consider your client as a unique individual. This means that all our lending decisions are made using common sense and judgement from highly skilled and experienced Underwriters, not computers.

Last year we launched the Accord Client Hub - an online collection of tools and guides for you to use when having this important conversations with your clients about their needs.
