We run our Society responsibly because we always have your long-term financial security in mind.
What is corporate governance?
Corporate governance is a set of best practice principles and processes which depict how an organisation should be run. These guidelines ensure that the organisation is able to fulfil its goals and objectives in a way that benefits its members and other stakeholders such as our colleagues and the local communities in which we serve.
Why it's important to us
As members of our Society, you put your trust in us to look after your money. In return, you can trust the Board to look after your interests by following best practice in corporate governance. We follow the principles and provisions of the UK Corporate Governance Code that are relevant to us, yet not those we believe inappropriate for a building society.

Our Memorandum and Rules
Our Memorandum and Rules set out a framework for the kinds of activities the Society can undertake and how it is managed.
The Memorandum sets out the purpose and powers of the Society. The Rules contain various provisions as to how the Society is managed, including requirements relating to membership of the Society and general meetings.
Any change to the Memorandum or Rules has to be approved by members through the passing of a special resolution in a general meeting.
