Yorkshire Building Society celebrates generations of loyalty

Yorkshire Building Society is celebrating decades of loyalty by thanking some of its longest-serving customers and colleagues. 

Members who have saved with the Society for more than 60 years are among those being recognised, as well as a colleague who has worked in the Society’s Tenby branch for almost 50 years.

To thank them for being part of the Society's story for generations, Yorkshire Building Society has sent 50 bespoke hampers to some of its longest-standing and most loyal members across the UK, as well as its 15 longest-serving colleagues. The celebrations have also extended into branches, where customers have been invited in for special events giving them the chance to capture memories with the branch teams. 

At Huddersfield branch, Mr and Mrs Hatch, who have been members since 1969, were among those recognised during the celebrations. Having saved with the Society for six decades, they represent the generations of members who have trusted Yorkshire Building Society to support their financial goals throughout their life. 

The celebrations also shine a light on colleagues whose commitment spans decades. One of those recognised is Roz Oak, a Customer Consultant in the Society's Tenby branch, whose career with Yorkshire Building Society stretches almost 50 years. 

Roz Oak said: "One of the most rewarding parts of my role has been seeing generations of the same families come through our doors. Over the years I've helped parents save for their children, and then welcomed those children back as adults opening accounts of their own. Those relationships are what make Yorkshire Building Society special and I'm incredibly proud to have been part of that journey for almost 50 years." 

The events formed part of Yorkshire Building Society's UK Savings Week activity, highlighting the important role that long-term saving continues to play in helping people achieve financial security while recognising the trust customers place in the Society over generations.

The celebrations come as Yorkshire Building Society continues to reward the loyalty of its members through a range of initiatives, including the launch of a new member-exclusive 2 Year Fixed Rate ISA. The account offers existing members a competitive fixed rate of 4.75% alongside a retail voucher for eligible ISA transfers from another provider, recognising those who choose to save with the Society.

The celebrations serve as a reminder that while much has changed since the Society first opened its doors, the relationships it builds with members and colleagues remain central to its success.
