Adjusting to a different life: being a home-based BDM

Any broker in the South West will know Rhiannon Adams and if they claim they don’t, they will probably recognise Wilbur the Welcome Box, who has an impressive following on social media where he documents his travels, touring famous landmarks and scenic viewpoints.

Rhiannon has worked as a BDM for Accord since 2018 and relishes her role, thriving on meeting brokers, speaking to them, learning what makes them tick and having the time to find solutions to their client’s needs.

Business Development Managers spend their lives travelling across their patch, going from office to office and meeting brokers to discuss products and proposition. So, when government guidelines were issued and the decision was made that our field-based teams needed to work from home only, Rhiannon, along with the wider BDM team had to adapt to a new way of life.

Rhiannon recently spoke to trade publication Financial Reporter to explain how she’s adapted to her new life and shares an insight into her range of working environment, her new web chat competitive streak and her Vegas-themed dinner parties!
